Efendiev appointed
interim director of TEES Institute for Scientific Computation
COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Dr. Yalchin Efendiev, associate professor in the
Department of Mathematics at Texas
A&M University,
has been appointed interim director of the Texas Engineering Experiment Station
(TEES) Institute for Scientific Computation.
Efendiev came to Texas A&M in 2001 shortly after receiving his doctorate
from California Institute of Technology. He is a member of the American
Mathematical Society, the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics
(SIAM), and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
He has received several grants from the National Science Foundation, the
Department of Energy and industry. He has numerous publications and serves on
the editorial board of several journals, including Multiscale Modeling and
Simulation: A SIAM Interdisciplinary Journal and Numerical Mathematics:
Theory, Methods and Applications.
His research focuses on numerical analysis.
